Antimicrobial Comfort Touch™ Toilet Seat

Safe Low Voltage Design

UltraTouch heated seats are shipped with a UL listed, fused, 12 volt transformer that heats the seat to a comfortable 20 to 25 degrees above a normal 70 degree room temperature.

The low voltage design makes the UltraTouch seat extremely safe. Although not recommended, you could literally touch your tongue to the connector coming from the transformer and would feel a slightly stronger sensation than a 9 volt transistor battery! The low voltage cord and connector is safe and will not be effected even if completely submerged in water! As with all 120 volt appliances, however, the transformer must not be exposed to water. Bathroom outlets should always be in safe location according to building codes. Plugging into any properly installed outlet is fine as long as it is not exposed to splashing water. The UltraTouch OverMolded construction also enhances safety because it is completely and permanently sealed. In fact, the seat will operate completely submerged in water with no hazard or damage. No other heated seat can make this claim.

Beware of seats that use 120 volts and are not sealed and waterproof!

Each seat is provided with approximately 12' of cord. The transformer has approximately 6' of cord and one additional extension is included with every seat. Additional extensions are available on our web store and the connectors are standard so you can also find extensions at a electronics store like Radio Shack. The low voltage design allows for a thin cord that can be safely extended and routed to hard to reach outlets, for example, out of the corner of a door and into an ajoining room to reach an available outlet.

Optional Transformers

If you desire a warmer seat or the seat is in a very cold room we have 16.5 and 18 volt transformers available in our online store. These are still safe voltages but will make the seat considerably warmer.

How warm you ask?

This is a good question but difficult to accurately answer because it depends on many factors. Normally the standard 12 volt transformer will bring the seat to around 95 degrees in a 70 degree room with the lid left down. We have found this to be comfortable for most people.

In a 70 degree room most people say the 16.5 volt transformer makes the seat almost uncomfortable and that the seat is uncomfortable and much too warm with the 18 volt transformer. However, if the lid is always left up or the seat is in a very cold room the 16.5 or 18 volt transformer will probably make the seat more comfortable than the 12 volt.

Additionally we get asked quite often if the seat will operate on a 12 volt car battery for use in an outhouse for example. The answer is yes!
